I am actually on a 5 hour train ride to Zürich, ultimately on my way to Wengen in the Jungfrau - I left Salzburg 8:02am, I won't be in Wengen untl around 4:30 - 5pm. Train ride is nice so far... They have table service food and a real espresso machine :)
There are some lovely little towns on the mountain sides heading into Innsbruck, very scenic.
Anyway, reason for this interlude is more pictures...because I went out for a little walk last night, some of them are a little off-kilter, but I was talking on the phone for part of the walk around... I have heard how lovely the weather is at home...
I had stuffed my face with schnitzel and strudel in a beer garten, so I needed to walk it off, and it was a lovely warm evening... And it was my last night, so might as well make the best of it!

This little pedestrain bridge over the Salzach river was right next to my hotel.

The hotel below is the same outfit as the Vienna Sacher Hotel, famous for its chocolate torte.

There really are two sides to the town, the numerous music institutes and schools, the Mozartariums, the old culture versus the tour buses, McDonalds and United Colors of Benneton.

It's a lot quieter on a sunday night however :)

They have these little trucks/wagons - and it is fast food for the the locals - beer and such is sold all over, even these little cart things - but sausages, wursts, are what these wagons mostly sell, basically Teutonic hot dogs.

If you are interested in taking pictures, these were all done on the "Sexy Nexy" - the handheld twilight mode is one of the most marvellous inventions ever... Without using a tripod you can get some quite awesome night shots, it actually takes 7 pictures seperately and then blends them all together, the effect is a long exposure, but because it broke it into smaller pieces there is less chance of camera shake... How clever my Japanese friends are... :)

And last but not least, what should be the major claim to fame of this town, not Julie Andrews, but Wolfgang Mozart. As I type this we are passing through Innsbruck...what a beautiful country this is...

And that really is the end of Salzburg, I am now no where near, and pretty soon I won't be in Austria either!
Schweizer Dave's dream is about to come true... Except they are forecasting rain and snow storms for the mountains :( looks nice and sunny out of the windows so far! I am going to be a Swiss for almost a week!
Go to bed early, not show off my oodles of money, be very conservative in all respects, hate the Schengen agreement... I can do this :) Yes, I can.
