Zürich airport is very Swiss; modern, spotless, so was the Holiday Inn I stayed at last night - in Canada so many of them are grungy, here and in Thailand they are super modern and clean, clean, clean. All new, as good as many better starred hotels I have stayed at, free breakfast too.
Anyway, one thing of note is the massive number of immigrants here... Incredible considering the difference between residency and citizenship is supposedly huge, but it gives me a ray of hope.... That fictional Swiss yodelling lifestyle could yet be mine after all! If they take absolutely anyone, that could be me!
Schweizer Dave! All I need to find is the secret numbered bank account and we are all set... But it is fictional as well :(
Ok, hunker down... 2 hrs 30 mins to Barcelona. You would all be proud, yesterday was the worst day of travel in the trip (logistically), and the last two flights, Amsterdam to Frankfurt (45 mins) and Frankfurt to Zürich (30 mins) I didn't take any pills for... Except half a travel sick pill, which does make me a only a little spacey. I am quite proud of myself. No space cakes yesterday either by the way...

It dawned on me when I went into Amsterdam though, that the suitcase I had checked in before going into town, checked all the way through to Zürich, I could have brought to the hotel I was going to stay at in Amsterdam... Funny how that thought escaped me entirely too late, would have saved me a few steps.
Anyhow, it is hard to believe how fast they served drinks on that 30 minute flight, on an a321 no less - so lots of people to dish out those sodas to - I was convinced people would be left holding the can, but nope, and since it was a Swiss Air flight, free chocolate too! Life as a Schweizer is grand... But for the next two days I am an hombre hispaniola... Olé !
